7 Day Challenge Description
The Baduanjin chi gung sequence is one of the most common forms of Chinese chi gung sequences.
Variously translated as Eight Pieces of Brocade, Eight-Section Brocade, Eight Silken Movements or Eight Silk Weaving, the name of the form generally refers to how the eight individual movements of the form characterise and impart a silken quality to the body and its energy.
What are the requirements?
There are no requirements to follow this challenge. The key things to bear in mind is to be mindful of your body and to not push yourself beyond what feels comfortable. You'll be learning some simple physical movements that will gently stretch your body, as well as you mind.
What am I going to get from this 7 Day Challenge?
The Baduanjin is primarily designated to improve health with each exercise addressing different internal organs.
I learned the Baduanjin as part of my Kung Fu practise and it has become more important to me as I got older and less interested in just "kicking ass".
This course is a simple introduction to the exercises so that you can use them as part of your meditation practice.
You can use them individually or practice them as a sequence.
The most important thing is to be grounded and mindful when doing the movements.
By the end of this challenge you will have learned all the different exercises that comprise the Baduinjin.
